Allen is a Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) lawyer in our Data Protection and Corporate/Commercial Practice Groups.
He is an experienced IT and data protection lawyer with extensive experience in data protection audits, implementation, advisory, policy making and data breach incident remediation exercises.
Allen has audited the privacy practices of several multinational companies in Nigeria, and consulted for the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) on data protection practices and structures around the National Identification Number issuance exercise. He is also a facilitator at the Firm’s Data Protection Academy (an outfit for training company staff members on data protection compliance practices within their organisation).
Having initiated technology startups himself, Allen blends his experience of intellectual property requirements, legal composition, and financial due diligence needed for technology startup success to deliver cutting edge legal services in this sector. His experience of Capital Market Law and operations as well as corporate restructuring options comes in handy when a client is looking to raise funds.
Allen also has competency in Fintech, corporate vehicle structures, and e-commerce law, and lends his spare time to gratuitous review of public interest litigation focused on data protection.
